Epicland Launches X9 Extended-Range SUV as First Model from Dongfeng-Huawei Joint Brand

Epicland unveiled the X9 extended-range SUV on 24 September, representing the first production vehicle from the joint venture between Dongfeng Motor and Huawei. The large 3-row, 6-seat model carries introductory pricing from 279,800 yuan (equivalent to approximately $41,460) through 359,800 yuan, below its standard price range of 289,800 to 369,800 yuan.

The X9 pairs an electric drivetrain with a 1.5-liter turbocharged range extender delivering 95 kilowatts. Two-wheel-drive variants feature a 300-kilowatt electric motor, while all-wheel-drive configurations provide 350 or 450 kilowatts of combined output. The highest-specification version accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.81 seconds.

The vehicle measures 5,301 mm in length, 2,015 mm in width and 1,820 mm in height, with a 3,120 mm wheelbase. Six-passenger seating accommodates 484 liters of cargo volume. Battery options offer capacities of 74.29 and 51.46 kilowatt-hours, with electric-only range reaching 465 kilometers. Combined electric and fuel range extends to 1,410 kilometers under CLTC testing or 1,120 kilometers under WLTC conditions.

Built on an 800-volt architecture, the SUV charges from 20% to 80% battery capacity in 18 minutes. Standard equipment includes Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 driver assistance system and an imaging-grade LiDAR with 896 channels across dual optical paths. The cockpit features Huawei's HarmonySpace 6 platform with two adjacent 17.2-inch 3.4K displays.

Dual-chamber air suspension with electronically controlled dampers supports the Qiankun Chitu platform chassis. Rear-wheel steering reduces minimum turning radius to 5.3 meters. Pre-sales commenced on 18 August at 299,800 yuan, with orders exceeding 20,000 units within the first 24 hours.
