Hyundai confirms its commitment to launch the IONIQ 6 N electric performance vehicle in the US market by end of 2026. The car will be available in extremely limited quantities through select dealers, featuring an aggressive design and advanced sports performance capabilities.
Hyundai confirmed that the IONIQ 6 N will reach the US market by the end of 2026, according to statements from Derek Joyce, manager of Hyundai Motor America's premium model lines. He emphasized that there has been no change in Hyundai's US plans for the vehicle. This comes after Hyundai discontinued the standard IONIQ 6 following the 2025 model year, though the performance variant remains on schedule.
The IONIQ 6 N showcases an aggressive aesthetic reflecting its sports-oriented nature, featuring a prominent ducktail wing, lowered stance, and modified front and rear bumpers. Built on the E-GMP platform, the car combines dual electric motors delivering 641 horsepower and 568 lb-ft of torque when N Launch Control and N Grin Boost are activated. The vehicle accelerates from zero to 60 mph in 3.2 seconds.
The car will arrive as a 2027 model year with extremely limited availability through select dealerships only. Standard equipment includes an advanced electronically controlled suspension system, Brembo performance brakes, sports bucket seats, an exclusive N performance steering wheel, and N-specific badging. Order openings are expected imminently, with the vehicle following the successful IONIQ 5 N as Hyundai's second dedicated electric N performance model.
