Kia Reveals PV7 Electric Van at 5.35 Metres with Nine-Passenger Configuration

Kia presented the PV7 for the first time at IAA Transportation 2026 in Hanover on 14 September 2026, advancing its position in the light commercial vehicle segment. The electric van is built on the E-GMP.S platform shared with the smaller PV5, featuring a flexible interior layout supported by a flat-floor design that enables multiple body-style configurations.

The PV7 measures 5,350 mm in length, 1,995 mm in width, and 1,990 mm in height, exceeding the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. Buzz in overall length. The van offers two nickel-cobalt-manganese battery packs: 71.5 kWh and 96.2 kWh configurations. The Long Range Cargo variant achieves over 460 kilometres of all-electric range following WLTP test procedures.

The initial variant employs front-wheel drive capable of generating up to 268 horsepower and 309 pound-feet of torque, with all-wheel-drive variants planned for future introduction. Using an 800-volt architecture, the van achieves 10-to-80 percent charging in approximately 25 minutes via 350 kW DC fast-charging infrastructure.

The Passenger variant accommodates seven or nine seats globally, with an 11-seat configuration available in the Korean market. The Cargo model provides 6.1 cubic metres of carrying capacity, expanding to 8 cubic metres in the high-roof variant. Kia intends to introduce 23 distinct PV7 variants encompassing cargo, passenger, chassis-cab, and specialised conversion categories.

Initial Passenger and Cargo models will launch in Korea and Europe during the second half of 2027, followed by expansion into additional markets and introduction of derivative and conversion models. Pricing information will be disclosed nearer to the official launch timeline.
