Xiaomi Launches Sky Nomad Extended-Range SUV Lineup
Xiaomi unveiled the Sky Nomad extended-range electric vehicle lineup on 7 September 2026, featuring 5-seat and 7-seat configurations priced from 209,900 yuan. The series combines electric motors with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol range extender, delivering combined ranges up to 1,705 kilometres when fully charged and fuelled.
The Sky Nomad lineup comprises three core models: the N70 Pro, N70 Max, and N90 Max, along with an Explorer edition tailored for camping applications. The N70 Pro starts at 209,900 yuan with a single 210 kW front motor and a 52 kWh battery delivering a 351 kilometre CLTC electric range. The N70 Max features dual 310 kW motors and a 76 kWh battery offering 505 kilometres of electric range at 239,900 yuan.
The larger N90 Max accommodates 7 passengers with an extended 5,285 mm length and provides 464 kilometres of electric-only range, while the Explorer variant integrates a factory pop-top roof with sleeping integration and floor heating. All variants employ lithium iron phosphate or ternary lithium batteries supporting rapid 20–80% charges in 18 minutes. Standard features include the HAD advanced driver assistance system with 700 TOPS computing power and optional 21.4-inch rear entertainment screens.
The launch supports Xiaomi's 550,000-vehicle annual target, with 216,322 units delivered during the first seven months of 2026. The extended-range vehicle segment represents a strategic expansion for the Chinese technology manufacturer beyond battery-electric platforms, targeting a market that recorded 535,000 sales across the first half of 2026 domestically. Pricing reductions on both the N70 Max and N90 Max from their pre-announced July levels reflect competitive positioning within China's EREV market.
